Rays of Light and the Drum Circle
Yesterday I spent my Sunday with two of my friends, Brendan and Laura, hiking in Woodstock, NY! We went to overlook mountain, where Brendan, Julie and I went hiking earlier in summer. Its about a two mile, easy hike up the mountain. It was a gorgeous day. Creepy ruins of an hold hotel. Amazing view, again! This time with some fall colors! Can you see the rays of sunlight? On the fire tower. It was COLD up there. The hike back down went quick, but for some reason its harder on the knees and feet. My toes end up hurting! We headed into the village of Woodstock for a quick…

Julie’s Birthday at Hana
Yesterday was my sisters 24th birthday! Happy Birthday, Julie! My sister was born 17 months after I was. Needless to say, we are close!! 😉 We went to the same college and even both had the same major. And we still share the same group of friends. She wanted to have her birthday dinner Hibachi style at Hana Japanese Steakhouse. My parents also joined us. As did friends! Chris and I got a blooming tea called Halo to share. It was tasty! It was so neat to watch the flower actually “bloom” while it steeped in the hot water. So pretty! My dad and Chris both agreed that it looked…

Jen’s Top Five Albany Eateries
Have I ever mentioned on this blog that I loathe chain restaurants? I highly dislike eating at chains (I won’t name names, but I really don’t like most of them), so whenever I go out to eat you can find me at a local establishment. I’m not very picky when it comes to food, but I do like to have a good selection of somewhat healthy/delicious meals. Although I admit, sometimes going out to dinner, you just have to induldge once in a while. Here are my top five faves, in no particular order: Albany Pump Station – Downtown Albany I always think of the Pump Station as a place to…

The Wine ‘N Diner Experience
So, I have to write about my experience at the Wine N Diner last friday night. Be prepared…I made some bad food choices, but I feel they were well deserved as I was “carbo loading” two nights before my half marathon. Chris and I went out to dinner here with my sister and her new boyfriend. We ended up sitting at the bar when we got there because it was so crowded! I started with a Smutty Nose Pumpkin Ale, from Utica, New York. They actually had a decent selection of New York beers. After about 10 minutes we got a table! While we looked over the menu, we admired…
