Rays of Light and the Drum Circle

Yesterday I spent my Sunday with two of my friends, Brendan and Laura, hiking in Woodstock, NY! We went to overlook mountain, where Brendan, Julie and I went hiking earlier in summer.

Its about a two mile, easy hike up the mountain.

The hike back down went quick, but for some reason its harder on the knees and feet. My toes end up hurting!

We headed into the village of Woodstock for a quick look around.

The drum circle!

We decided to have dinner at the Red Onion, again! Brendan and I loved it there, so we went back there for a post-hike dinner.

Dinner: goat cheese ravioli with arugula, figs, pine nuts and truffle oil.

I had no idea what truffle oil was- but it was good. This meal wasn’t too heavy, it was great. But I wish the ravioli had more of a goat cheese flavor. I didn’t bite into them tasting goat cheese. But they were still good.

I had left room for dessert: local honeycrisp apple and strawberry crisp, with honey almond ice cream.

Yeah, this picture doesn’t do it justice. It was incredible.

The Red Onion is expensive, but the food is so worth it! If you ever get to Woodstock, come here for dinner. You won’t regret it!

So, I have a midterm exam coming up on Thursday, so I won’t be posting too much this week, because I need to spend all my free time studying!!! Wish me luck! 🙂
