A Lazy Sunday

Actually, I most of my Sunday was lazy…minus my eight mile run!

I woke up  yesterday morning and had my Trader Joe’s goods on the brain. Especially the pumpkin butter. I had to have more TJ’s cinnamon raisin bread as well…so breakfast and pre-run fuel was cinnamon raisin toast, slathered with TJ’s almond butter and pumpkin butter, with a banana. I ended up taking the banana off, since for some reason the texture of a banana on toast has been bothering me. Weird? Yes. I can eat the banana alone just fine…

After waiting a few hours for my meal to digest, I headed out for an eight mile run. It felt good to be getting long runs in on the weekend again! Except, it was raining a bit. It wasn’t too bad, but I was kind of cold by the end.

Garmin stats:
Total distance: 8 miles
Total elapsed time: 1 hour, 13 minutes and 36 seconds
Average pace: 9:12

Splits:
Mile 1 – 10:03
Mile 2 – 9:23
Mile 3 – 9:10
Mile 4 – 9:13
Mile 5 – 9:00
Mile 6 – 8:43
Mile 7 – 9:07
Mile 8 – 8:53

I mostly just picked it up for the last three miles because it was raining and I wanted just to be done. I also wanted a nice hot shower.

I had lots of time to think during my run, and I think that signing up for a 15K four weeks after my first half marathon wasn’t too smart. I didn’t really get much of a chance to “recover” the few weeks following my race, since I have been worried about keeping my endurance up for the 15K. But also, I’m really excited about running it, and I want to end my racing year with a bang! 😉 But I guess I’m just afraid of getting burnt out. Lets just hope that doesn’t happen! Although, I think I may be more excited about my first trail race on Halloween next weekend!

After my run, I had lunch, which included more food from Trader Joe’s. It was the perfect time to have my vegetable masala burger!!

It was delicious! It was one of the best veggie burgers I’ve ever had. I ended up chopping it up and throwing it in with a scrambled egg and some spinach, with a side of salsa andTJ’s goat cheese.

It was a tasty lunch for this hungry girl, post-run.

I spent the rest of the afternoon doing laundry and lazing around, which was perfect! My legs were feeling a bit sore, too. But later in the evening I went over to Chris’ where we made dinner and watched a movie. Dinner was from guess where? TJ’s!

Chris had been wanting risotto lately, so I picked him up some at TJ’s. Doesn’t he make a good cook? 😉

It was delicious! We threw in some broccoli and pepper, too. It was so creamy.

Dinner was followed by a movie. Since Halloween is coming up, I decided I wanted to attempt a scary movie, since I don’t do scary movies, ever. I did my research (as in reading the synapsis online) and determined I could probably handle Paranormal Activity. And to be honest, I wasn’t that scared, just a little bit freaked out! I know I probably shouldn’t have read spoilers, but it was just easier for me to handle it that way! 😉 Who knows, maybe I will see the second one in the theater!!!

Question: do you like scary movies?

Love scary movies! But only if someone else is watching with me. With the lights on. And I always cover my eyes for the scary parts. I’m secretly a wuss and apparently like to torture myself by watching scary movies. ha. Amityville Horror (the original) is my all time favorite.

PS… that risotto looks amazing 🙂

Great job on the run! I really wish I picked up some of that risotto, it looks awesome! I am so excited for Sunday- we need to coordinate meeting times and whatnot!

I hate scary movies. They scare the crap out of me!

Have you tried the cranberry beer yet? 😀
