Hip Update
Tuesday is almost over. One day closer to Friday, and that’s a good thing! This blog post is probably going to be all over the place so bear with me.
This morning I had a bowl of cereal for breakfast because I’m running out of food and haven’t been to the grocery store in ages. I wanted a smoothie but had no bananas or frozen fruit. Cereal it is!
Just a bowl of Kashi H2H cinnamon + Special K Protein, almond milk, with a dab of almond butter and a few mini morsels. Pretty tasty. Not quite as filling as a smoothie though.
Lunch was a bowl of one of my favorite soups: V8 Butternut Squash! I love the line of V8 soups. They are vegetarian, contain no artificial ingredients, and very low calorie. When I need to eat light I usually have a bowl of their delicious soup. I’m trying to eat light this week because I’m going away Friday for the weekend and I know I’ll be eating out a lot.
I also had a Clif Z Bar: Chocolate Chip. I love C lif Z Bars, they are so good. I used to like Luna Bars, but they became to sweet for me, and I find I like Clif Z Bars better.
Hip Update
Some of you may be wondering about my hip situation. I wrote about my problem in this post. I ran my 10K on Saturday with no hip pain during my run, but afterward while walking around the village, it was sore. Sunday I took hot yoga and was a tad bit sore during the class, but afterward felt perfectly fine. I think the hot yoga might have stretched it out and made it feel better. So my hip has been fine the past two days. Yesterday I had my doctor appointment to get it checked out. He sent me for an x-ray, and the results came back negative! My doctor said just to decrease my milage and take an anti-inflammatory, and stretch the hip really well before and after my runs. He said if it doesn’t start to feel better, to possibly take Physical Therapy. We’ll see if it ever comes to that (I hope not). He prescribed me medication that wouldn’t bother my stomach, because the last time I took ibuprofen for my hip, it made feel sick to my stomach. I hope it works!
When I got home from work I quickly hopped on the treadmill and ran two miles in 20 minutes followed by a shoulders circuit of Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones. The upper body was KILLER. I think my arms were still sore from hot yoga! Ouchies. But my hip seems to be fine. It only really bothers me after running outside on the road or running longer distances, like 4 miles or more.
Post-workout dinner was a tomato and cheese omelet! I think I finally mastered the omelet. Whenever I’ve tried to flip them, they never come out right and end up looking like scrambled eggs. But I think I did it!
Local tomatoes + local eggs = one delicious local meal! Not including the cheese! 😉
In other news, I finished Season 1 of True Blood! This is seriously my new favorite shows. I loved this season and I can’t wait for Netflix to send me the next one. I’m addicted! If you haven’t watched this show, you need to. Now.

Ouch, hip problems! I had tendonitis in my right hip and it was awful! If you need to, go for PT.

You should definitely purchase a foam roller! Even if it doesn’t help, I still consider it to be an essential part of a runner’s repetoire. 😀

Ouch to hip problems. I get those when riding the bike but running seems ok.
Good luck on a full recovery – it sounds like you are pretty much there.
Love that omelet!
