Entering into Double Digits: A New PDR

So, today I finally went THERE. I’ve ran the furthest I’ve ever ran in my life, setting a new Personal Distance Record (PDR), and entering into the double digit territory.

It took me 1 hour and 42 minutes to complete ten long miles. I only took one break after mile six to get some Clif Energy Gel and water because I so tired and completely beat. I honestly didn’t think I would finish. I thought about stopping after mile six and calling it a day. But I wanted to see TEN MILES on my GPS so BAD!!! So I stopped at home and rested for about five minutes while I ate my gel and drank a bottle of water, and went back out there and ran the remaining four miles.

I’m so glad I did it. It feels great. Even though I’ve been sore for most of the day–even after taking a 10 minute ice bath. (I hope this helps in the long run.)

And now there are TWO weeks until my first half marathon. I’m getting SO excited. I know I can do it.

This is what was pushing me through my run today:

My reward for running ten miles was a cider donut!

I also made some lunch–with all local ingredients! Local eggs + local tomato that I got yesterday at the farm stand.

Someone likes to sniff my veggies!

Eggs and orange tomato:

Tasty tasty. I used two eggs and one egg white for extra protein, along with a bagel thin. It was pretty filling!

Dessert was an apple picked yesterday.

No, cats don’t like apples!

I may or may not have had some dark chocolate as more dessert…. 😉

Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday evening!
