    Yoga, Yoga, Yoga

I’m starting Courtney’s Yoga Challenge this month! You all know how much I love my yoga, but I often don’t do as much as I would like. Its hard to incorporate ALL the workouts I want to do without getting burnt out. Anyway, even before I read Courtney’s post, I had been planning on doing yoga 3x a week in addition to my running. My new gym has a great power yoga class that I love, and its offered at convenient times for me, so I see no excuse to join in on the yoga fun! Click the badge above if you want to join, too!

    More Yoga in my Life

If I had unlimited hours in the day (and unlimited funds) and more time to do everything I wanted to do, I would spend more time doing yoga. Since running takes priory over every workout, when things come up and certain things have to get pushed aside, sadly, yoga class is one of them! I went back on Wednesday night for the first time in a few weeks and it was MUCH needed. I’ve been struggling with some of my runs lately. Every time I run I feel like I have bags of weights strapped to my legs. Not fun–but a little yoga can go a long way in helping…

    Detox Day 1

I mentioned in an earlier post that I wanted to begin a detox for the new year! I came across one that sounded like it was actually do-able in my sister’s cookbook,  Cooking with Trader Joe’s: Skinny Dish. Some of basic rules are outlined as follows: Consume only liquids (green juices, non diary smoothies, herbal tea, water) and raw fruits & veggies until noon every day. Drink LOTS of water throughout the day. Eat lots of raw fruits & veggies, allow raw nuts and seeds (1/2 cup every day) and cooked whole grains (2 cups total). Avoid gluten (wheat, barley & rye) completely. Include a daily multivitamin Avoid all dairy…

    Chocolate and Yoga

Sunday Morning my sister, Julie and my friend Caitlyn and I went to the Chocolate Expo at the State Museum! I had been wanting to check out the Chocolate Expo for years and finally got around to it. 🙂 We got there as soon as the expo opened, so we had first shot at the chocolate fountains. The expo cost $3 to get in, which wasn’t bad at all. The chocolate fountain was free! And you got to through the line as many times as you wanted with two dipping items per person each time through the line. Luckily it was very early so we got to go through a…

    Out of the Yoga Slump

The past few months have been solely dedicated to running. I wanted to run the Diva Half Marathon well at the beginning of October (mission accomplished) so all other exercise came to a halt, including yoga and body pump class! It had been months since I’ve done either. I’ve had a hard time fitting body pump into my schedule since school started again so I decided to suck it up and force myself to do some yoga at home. I had been in a yoga slump. I was too tired and to even do a 20 minutes class from yogadownload after getting home from class or work. Finally I did a 60…
