    Flexible Vegetarian

The keynote speaker at the Healthy Living Summit this past weekend was Dawn Jackson Blatner, the author of “The Flexitarian Diet“. Her presentation was very good, and even though the information wasn’t necessarily new to me, I really believe in the idea of being a “flexitarian” and how beneficial to your health eating a plant-based diet is. Dawn Jackson Blatner summarized the Flexible Vegetarian as someone who… Minimizes meat but doesn’t exclude it Wakes up with the intention to be more vegetarian Eats a diet that is pro-plans but not anti-meat Essentially, I am a flexitarian because I eliminate almost all meat from my diet. Season for Salads

Spring is here, and you know what that means! Its salad season! In the winter I hate eating salads for some reason. They just never appeal to me! But once warmer weather hits I’m craving them, especially lately.  I enjoy eating salads much more when I top them with things I really love eating. Wow, Earth Day is tomorrow (every day is really Earth Day)! And in honor of this awesome day, here are some of my more of my favorite green products. Even though you may not think so, the chemicals inside our beauty products make their way into our skin and bodies and also down our drain and into our Earth. I feel so good knowing that using these products helps the Earth in a small way. (Check out Part I here). Kiss My Face Shampoo & Conditioner (source ) Kiss My Face so far has been my favorite natural shampoo. It leaves my hair feeling clean and smells great. I also leaves my…

    Cheap Wine Tasting

This morning I opened my email to find an awesome Groupon. (Groupon is a website you can sign up to recieve daily emails about discounts on going on in your area, I purchased a Yoga groupon for 50% off classes in January and I’m still taking classes there through my Groupon.) $5 for a wine tasting for two? How AWESOME is that? I bought one! Since I’m into local wines because of my green challenge, I thought it would be the perfect thing to do on a spring day! I’ve heard about this Altamont Winery and I’ve been wanting to check it out. All the more reason to go! Click here if you…
