    A Not-That-Exciting Lunch

Good afternoon everyone! Hope you all are having a great Thursday. I’m making a quick post right now because I’m going to be super busy these next couple days and I’m not sure when I’ll get to blogging again. Probably at some point on Saturday! Anyway, last night I went to the gym after work for what was supposed to be a five-mile tempo run. I was going to turn into a six-mile tempo run, but that changed. I ran the first two miles as a warm up and then ran two miles at a 9:30 pace, which was supposed to last three miles, but I only made it until mile four where…

Veggie Wraps and Apple Pie a la Mode

After running 8 miles on Sunday, all day Monday I was starving. Literally. And I didn’t pack that much for lunch and I was hungry all day. I need to re-think my eating habits after long runs like that, because I’m so used to cutting back calories, I don’t think about the calories I need to eat in order to run long distances. I had to make up for the estimated 900+ (woah) calories that I burned. Needless to say…I was hungry yesterday. I quickly made up for that when I went out to dinner at Swifty’s Pub. I was meeting a friend for dinner in Delmar and we decided…

    Liquid Sunshine

Last night I met up with my cousin Liz! She recently just returned from a vacation in France so I wanted to hang out with her so we could catch up! I brought a bottle of Cascade Mountain Harvest Rose, a local wine, over to her apartment and we each had a couple glasses before going to dinner. The wine was very fruity and delicious. 🙂 We eventually made it to the Wine Bar on Lark. We decided on another bottle of wine…a sparking white called Moscato D’Asti. When we ordered it, the waitress described it as tasting like “liquid sunshine“. How could we not try that? 😉 It smelled…

    Run for Pride 5K

Good morning! This morning I got up bright an early to head into Washington Park to register for the Run for Pride 5k! It is pride week in the Capital Region, and they have a 5K that Chris and I decided to run together. It was our first race that we’ve run together so far! But before I get into that, lets rewind to breakfast. I got up at around 7:30 and had a bagel thin with some Justin’s Almond Butter. It came from one of those cute portable squeeze packs! I also topped one side with half a banana and some blueberry jam. I think this may be my…

    Portabella Burger Baby

Happy Friday! 🙂 It’s my favorite day of the week! I had one of my favorite meals for dinner tonight. A portabella burger. Yum! But more on that in a bit. Last night I had a tempo run scheduled, so I headed to the gym for that. I ran 5 miles in about 52 minutes. And I had kind of a hard time. For the first two miles my stomach felt like a rock! I have no idea why…I ate a lot of fruit during the day, including pineapple. Maybe that’s why? I love pineapple, but sometimes it doesn’t agree with me! I did a one mile warm up, and…
