Tawasentha XC 5K
Last night I ran my first cross country 5K!
The local running clubs HMRRC and ARE get together and put on a cross country 5K series at Tawasentha Park in Guilderland. The runs are three consecutive weeks at the end of the summer.
They are not kidding when they say this course is tough, because it is. I struggled through most of the race since a lot of it is steep hills on uneven terrain.
There is even a river crossing, which was pretty fun!

I wasn’t worried about time at all, I just wanted to have fun and run out on the trails. My watch clocked the distance at 2.98 miles and my time as 35:35–probably a little bit off.
You still have a chance to run this one–the next and final race in the series is Monday August 26th!
