Last Summer Trail Run
Last night I participated in the last summer trail run with ARE, for me! The final run of the series is actually next Thursday, but my classes start next week so I can’t make it. I decided to go after discovering that it was going to be in Guilderland near where I live on some trails I’d never been on before.
The run was hard last night. The trails had a lot of ups and downs and they essentially felt like a maze in the woods. If it wasn’t for the marked path then I would have definitely gotten lost in here.
I was not having a good run. My legs were still fatigued from doing my first track workout in ages (seriously, I think the last time I ran at a track was in April 2012 at RPI). And it was 88 degrees when I left for the run. Kind of hot.
On the plus side, when I was walking a portion of the trail, I saw two deer jump through a ravine. I probably would have missed them if I had been running.
Even though I had a pretty crappy “run”, I don’t regret it. I wanted to take advantage of being outside as much as I can right now.
