CDNY Eat Drink Blog Cookie Swap

Just when I think I can’t eat any more cookies, I make six dozen Chocolate Macroon Bars and head to a cookie swap with other local bloggers hosted by Heather. It was amazing. (my guiltless white bean guacamole) My plate Mac & cheese Winter salad Polenta casserole Fruit salad and pumpkin soup (unpictured) The goods (CDNY cookies made by Heather!) Yay for finally getting to meet Liz!!! I had such a great time at the cookie swap–and now I’m in a sugar coma! The sugar detox will take place next week. There were so many delicious cookies to choose from, I don’t know which was my favorite. What is your…

    Office Holiday Party, in Photos

Yesterday’s lunch at our Office Holiday Party, catered by Cardona’s Market. Potluck dessert!   FYI: I did not cosume all of the desserts pictured here, although I probably could have if I wanted to! I chose some cookies that I wanted to try and a sliver of  two flavors of cheesecake. And stopped when I was full, which I’m pretty proud of! One can get overwhelmed at events like this.

    Black Friday Madness

Every year the day after Thanksgiving, since I can remember, my sister and I have gone out at an ungodly hour to go shopping on Black Friday. I guess it’s more of a tradition now! Last year my sister and I went to Boscov’s with our friend to wait in line at 4AM, in the cold. The line looked like this. I wanted to go to Gap since they were having 50% off the entire store before 10AM. The…

Bethlehem Turkey Trot 5K + Thanksgiving Dinner

Happy Thanksgiving! Today marks my 13th (last probably last) race of 2010! And it was the first race I went to completely alone! Not that I minded, but it was weird not having someone there to wait with and chat with and meet at the finish line. Last year I ran the Troy Turkey Trot, and this year I decided to run the first Our Towne Bethlehem Turkey Trot! For one, it is way closer to where I live than Troy, and for two, there are less people running and I had a better a chance of PRing! I woke up early to the sun coming up in my backyard.…

Pride of New York Harvest Fest

How perfect, especially during my Green Challenge, that this weekend there was a Pride of New York Harvest Festival going on at the Empire State Plaza. And the best part: I was able to attend thanks to All Over Albany! I won two free tickets to the event! 🙂 Chris, Chris’ roommate, and their friend from out of town all came with me to this awesome festival. There were so many vendors at the festival, including dozens of New York wineries, a few breweries, and tons and tons other New York farms, orchards, and other food producers. It was glorious! We also got our free wine glass with admission–for all…
