Body Pump Challenge Update
I’m currently on my fourth week of my six-week Body Pump Challenge. In case you didn’t know, I started taking Body Pump after joining my new gym last month to incorporate some much needed weight-training into my exercise routine. I started the challenge May 24th and I’ve taken two classes a week since then. I know its too soon to do a “before & after” post, but here are just a few things I’ve noticed since taking the class.

Squats and lunges do not get easier. But I’m thinking its time to up my weight for the leg tracks.

My strongest area is my back! I need to increase my weight on Thursday when we do the back track.
My weakest areas are my triceps and biceps (big shocker, I know).
I can now do one or two regular push ups. But that’s it.
I can now complete 20 modified push ups with a break in between.
Clean and presses are my favorite move. They are easy for me so I need to increase my weight.
I have not noticed any definition in my arms or back. It might be too soon for that. I do however notice it in my legs. This is where I need it LEAST. My arms and back is where I want it most, not my legs! This is frustrating.
So, I will write a full report after my six weeks and will then make the decision if I plan to continue or not. You’ll have to wait and find out!

You are so right! Squats and lunges NEVER get easier. They are probably my least favorite exercise. Keep at it with the push-ups… when I first started weight training a year ago I was right where you are. A couple months ago I did a push-up workout and did 200… 10 at a time, but all on my toes! Never thought I’d be able to do that.
Great job sticking with the classes! Can’t wait to see your before and after results!

Great job on your challenge. I am starting to get more into strength training again and trying really hard to include it in my routine 1-2 times per week. I hope I start seeing some changes/results soon!
