Will Run for Brunch

Happy Easter! I realized last night that I missed by blog’s 2 year anniversary. I believe it is sometime in March, but I forget the exact date. Yes, I’m a bad blogger!

Oh well. Anyway–lets discuss yesterday’s run, shall we? Since I missed my 12 mile run last weekend, I knew I had to get it in this weekend, the weekend before my half marathon, or else I would be struggling through those 13.1 miles and I really didn’t want to run a crappy race. I mean, who does?

Alicia, who is running the race with me in New York, joined me for the run Saturday morning!

Alicia and I ended up splitting up at around mile 7, and we each finished by ourselves, which was okay with both of us! Alicia ran 10 miles, which is what usually half marathon training plans call for the as the final long run for your half marathon. I do like to run 12 just because I feel more comfortable with it. I know I can run a half marathon, but I want to RACE it, which I haven’t done in a while, so 12 it was.

After our run, Alicia and I took our sweaty selves to brunch at Xs to Os Bakery in Troy. They were having blueberry corn pancakes with roasted root veggies and a tofu fritatta. Yes, please! I’ve realized this food is my favorite food to eat after a long run, period!

After we said our goodbyes, I promptly headed to my couch and spent the remainder of the evening there. 😉 Chris came over and later we finished season 2 of Breaking Bad and ordered the Goat Cheese pizza on whole wheat crust from my favorite pizza place. Yes!

All in all, it was a good day!
