10.5(ish) & XOXO Brunch
This morning Chris and I headed to the bike path to do a long run. I really don’t have to start training for my next half marathon (in October) but I want to keep my long run distance up.
We started running and after about two minutes my Garmin’s battery died (go figure).
It was kind of nice not to worry about time though, I just ran by feel and I felt great. 🙂 We kept track of our miles by the mile markers on the path from the Mohawk Hudson Marathon! We ran out and back at least 3.5 miles, took a break for water and Gu, and then four more miles. I guessed we ran about 10.5. However, I have no idea how long it took us!
The 10 miles felt easy today. Of course my legs were tired afterward, but I felt like I could have kept going if I had to. I love being at the point in my running where I can get up and run 10 miles without thinking about it. Chris of course can always get up and run! 🙂
After our run, Chris and I decided to hit up brunch at Xs to Os Vegan Bakery. I’ve been wanting to go to their brunch for a while now, but today we finally made it!
Today’s brunch menu was vegan sloppy joes, mac & cheese, and raw veggie hash.
Deliciousness! The sloppy joes were AMAZING! There was definitely quinoa in them and they were extremely tasty. The hash was tasty too!
I was most intrigued by the mac and cheese because I’ve never had any form of vegan cheese before! One of the girls who works there told me it was made with Daiya cheese. I was interested..what’s IN vegan cheese?
According to the company’s website, the ingredients are: “Filtered water, tapioca and/or arrowroot flours, non-GMO expeller pressed canola and /or non-GMO expeller pressed safflower oil, coconut oil, pea protein, salt, inactive yeast, vegan natural flavours, vegetable glycerin, xanthan gum, citric acid (for flavor), annatto.”
The flavor was a bit like cheese, but you could tell it wasn’t the same, however, it wasn’t bad! It was very tasty and melty. I was surprised at how good it was!
Of course, I had to get an oatmeal cream pie…my favorite. I ate half and saved half for later. 😉
Chris and I left Xs to Os with happy, full bellies. I will definitely be back for a tasty brunch (they have it every other weekend).
