The Thanksgiving Dilemma Part II

Some of you may be wondering about what I’ll be eating Thursday on Thanksgiving if you’ve read my Thanksgiving Dilemma post a few weeks ago.

I’m actually pretty happy to say that my dad was successful in his turkey hunting adventures and came  home one day with not only one, but two wild turkeys!

And yes, one looked just like this. Sort of.

I do have photos of my dad with his birds. I debated, but I’m not going to post the pictures. Even though I’m proud of my dad, I’m not that comfortable looking at the dead animals myself, and I know many of you probably wouldn’t want to see it either!

I’m actually looking forward to having turkey for Thanksgiving after a seven month hiatus from  eating that kind of meat. And I feel really good that the turkeys came from the wild (and practically my own back yard), rather than a factory farm! As cheesy as this sounds, I would also like to thank the turkey for providing me and my family with a delicious Thanksgiving meal. 🙂

The question remains: will I go back to eating turkey (or chicken) after this? Probably not any time soon. 🙂 Although, I may partake in the Thanksgiving leftovers and enjoy a wild turkey sandwich.
