Crescent Meadow and the High Sierra Trail, Sequoia National Park
After we saw General Sherman and hiked Moro Rock, we drove to the Crescent Meadow trailhead to do some more hiking. On our way, this guy ran in front of our vehicle. Black bears are extremely active here in Sequoia National Park! There are warning signs everywhere. They also suggest NOT leaving food visible inside vehicles because the bears will try to get in to get it. They are smart and resourceful. Not to mention, cute! Anyway, we parked at Crescent Meadow and Jordan and I decided to do a short hike on the High Sierra Trail. This is a 60 mile trail that goes all the way to…

Hiking the Panorama and Mist Trails, Yosemite National Park
On July 5, Jordan and I took the one-way shuttle from Yosemite Lodge to Glacier Point to hike the Panorama Trail. We began hiking around 11am. The trail switchbacks down into the valley, with gorgeous views every step of the way. I’ve never experienced anything like it. The hike itself wasn’t challenging at all. Alcatraz Brewing Company
Last Friday in California, Chris and I rented a car so we could check out some things in Anaheim. We found the Outlets at Orange, big shopping center not far from our hotel. One of the reasons we stopped here was to check out Alcatraz Brewing Co. I knew immediately what beer to order: the Strawberry Wheat! It has a really strong strawberry aroma, but when I tasted it, I didn’t taste much strawberry, but I still enjoyed my beer. It was refreshing! We also ordered the spinach dip to start, which was creamy and delicious and not something I usually order. It was a treat! And then for my…

Pacific Coast Highway
Sunday after the big wedding, Chris and I decided to take drive back to Huntington Beach to see some sights. First, we stopped for breakfast at a place I randomly found when searching for vegetarian restaurants, called Secret Spot. It was a little hole in the wall –you would never know it was there unless you were looking, hence the name? You could tell this a place that the locals love. Everything on the menu looked amazing. I decided to go with the cabana cakes–pancakes with cashews, pineapple and raspberries with potatoes on the side. They were so light and fluffy and the cashews gave them a nice crunch–I loved…
