Alcatraz Brewing Company

Last Friday in California, Chris and I rented a car so we could check out some things in Anaheim. We found the Outlets at Orange, big shopping center not far from our hotel. One of the reasons we stopped here was to check out Alcatraz Brewing Co.

I knew immediately what beer to order: the Strawberry Wheat! It has a really strong strawberry aroma, but when I tasted it, I didn’t taste much strawberry, but I still enjoyed my beer. It was refreshing!

We also ordered the spinach dip to start, which was creamy and delicious and not something I usually order. It was a treat!

And then for my meal I ordered the fish tacos. And boy they were good and very spicy! Four mini corn tortillas (my favorite!) were loaded with the fish, cilantro, lettuce and a spicy sauce. They were pretty flavorful…I really enjoyed them.

Chris then decided to try a sampler of their other handcrafted beers.

I had a taste of each also, my favorites were the Big House Red and the Dark Imperial Stout. Good beers! We couldn’t go to California without stopping by a brew pub, that’s for sure.
