Ohh the Humidity

Oh boy, is it humid!! I just ran two miles on the treadmill (in my basement) and still I’m still dripping sweat!! I’m actually looking forward to the fall weather (never thought I’d say that) just for the cool running weather! And plus, I absolutely LOVE fall. It is my favorite season. 🙂 But let’s not wish the summer away just yet!

After my run. Notice the runny mascara and messy hair. Eek! It looks like I ran more than two miles!

One thing I haven’t mentioned on the blog yet is that I’ve been having some hip pain after lengthly runs. I first noticed the pain last friday, after a four mile run during my lunch break. I hobbled back to my office with a bag of ice and iced it for about 45 minutes. It took two days for the pain to go away completely, and it was fine for my trail run on Sunday. Fast forward to Tuesday when I ran five miles, the next day my hip was sore! It finally started feeling better again today, so I decided to run an easy two miles on the treadmill and currently my hip feels fine. I’m still planning on running the 10K on Saturday, as long as I’m not feeling any pain! The funny thing is, it doesn’t hurt when I run at all. Weird right? Anyone ever have a similar injury? I have a doctor’s appointment on Monday to see what’s up, but I’m terribly afraid he’s going to tell me to stop running. This would be my WORST NIGHTMARE! So I’m kind of freaked out. 🙁

But anyway, I came home from work to some mint iced tea that my mom made! So refreshing!

And then it was time for dinner. As you are probably well-aware, I like to keep my meals quick and easy, and tonight was no exception. I was feeling a bit too lazy to chop up those veggies from earlier, so I made a quick roasted red pepper and muenster sandwich. I loooove muenster cheese! So I threw a slice on a toasted sandwich thin, along with some roasted red pepper, hummus, and a few baby spinach leaves. It was so tasty!! I was actually wishing I had more to eat! As soon as I get more of this cheese I will be making this again! I’m sure it would taste just as good with goat cheese!!

I’m still all sweaty from my run, so it’s time to get clean! Night everyone!

Oh the humidity… I agree! Blech. I got in three miles outdoors after work and the only reason is because I met up with a running buddy. Otherwise I would have been in air conditioning for sure.

Is your doctor a runner? If so, I doubt he’ll have you stop running altogether. Pain happens, and sometimes it comes and goes with no answers, but it’s wise to get it checked out.

I injured my back pretty bad a few years ago. THe pain has come and gone. He may have you do an x-ray or something, but unless you have something serious, then I don’t think he will order you not to run. Do you have good shoes with good support? My doctors and chiropractor reccomended Fleet Feet on Wolf Road. I have to say they have been awesome.

Actually, my shoes are from Fleet Feet! They are New Balance and I got them in May, I think I may have about 200 miles on them, maybe more. So I will probably get new ones in the next couple of months.

Fall is my favorite season too and I can’t wait for it to get here! I hope your doctor can help figure out the hip pain. I haven’t really had hip pain, but I’ve had some weak pain in the past and it is always on my left side. After talking with some people, I figured out my right leg is tighter/weaker and I always have my weight shifted to the left (when I just stand naturally). I’ve been trying to work on the right side and my posture and it seems to be working.
