How I Spent Mother’s Day

Obviously, I spent the morning of Mother’s Day with my awesome Mom!

We had plans to go to Jake Moon for breakfast, but after getting turned away without reservations, we had to find somewhere else to go.

My parents knew about this place to get food…but it wasn’t a restaurant, it was a mobile food stand, sort of.

I was pretty skeptical at first. I mean, a morning when you’re looking forward to a delicious breakfast at Jake Moon and all of a sudden you’re here–outside. Of course, it was a nice day and all, and my mom said she heard the food was good here, so we went with it!

There was only one woman cooking inside (I’m assuming this was Suzanne). She was very friendly! There were some standard breakfast options on the menu, pancakes, french toast, and egg sandwiches.

My mom and I ordered pancakes and my dad and sister ordered French Toast. I asked if she could add fruit to mine, and thankfully she had some strawberries!

Mine took the longest to cook, but it probably only took her about 15 minutes to make four breakfasts.

I also ordered home fries on the side. They came out a bit burnt and bland tasting, but nothing that some ketchup couldn’t fix.

The pancakes were good–they tasted like pancakes my mom makes! They probably could have spent more time cooking though since the middle was a bit under-done. I think she was rushing to get my order out with the rest of the food. The strawberries were a great addition. I didn’t use any syrup on mine (they didn’t really need it).

My sister got the french toast with bacon. Her and my dad both enjoyed it.

But here’s the best part–breakfast for four people was only $16!!!! I’d say that’s a pretty good deal for breakfast.

Since it was Mother’s day and all, my mom got a free ice cream!

I tried some of my mom’s soft serve–and it was delicious.

Happy Mother’s Day, Mom. I hope you had a fun one! 🙂 Love you lots!

After breakfast, I gave my mom part of her mother’s day present: Betty’s Cupcakes! I ordered the Groupon a while ago and finally used it for this special occasion!

I tasted the thin mint.

It was really tasty!

What did you do to celebrate mother’s day?
