House Warming + Scones
So last night as I told myself I would, I went to the gym and ran five miles in under 50 minutes on the treadmill. I felt amazing the whole time, and it was such a great feeling to finally have a good run. I always feel so much better after getting a longer run in.
When I got home I made a quick dinner of an omelet with spinach, but I didn’t take any pictures because I was in a hurry to get ready to go to housewarming party! The omelet didn’t actually hold me over, so I was starving when I got there. They had standard party food, like chips and dip, etc. I had some guacamole and mozzarella covered tomatoes. Yum! I also got to meet blog reader Sarah! She is really awesome…Sarah also ran the Boilermaker on July 11 and said she had an amazing time too! It was really cool to chat with her. π
Anyway, my friend’s new apartment is pretty cool–he took us up to the 13th floor of the building where there is an outstanding view. I was shocked beyond belief when I saw this!
A view of Albany I have never seen before in my life! It was gorgeous! But the photo doesn’t really do much justice.
I also made a new friend at the party, his name is Dallas. Isn’t he cute? I wanted to take him home!
So, this morning I stopped at the grocery store because I have been feeling the urge to bake something lately. I decided to give Julie’s Savvy Scone’s a try out, since I fell in love with them at CDNY Eat Drink Blog. π I got the ingredients for her Cherry Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Scones. I had most of them, I just needed the cherries. π I have never made scones before!
So I got to work baking scones. This is how they looked going into the oven.
And out of the oven!
I think scones may be my new favorite food. Love. π Thank you Julie for providing me with this great and easy recipe!
While my scones were baking I had some blueberry waffles for brunch! It was too early for lunch and too late for breakfast. π
I have never tried Van’s before, and I really enjoyed them! I love frozen waffles because they are quick and easy. I topped mine with some home made blueberry sauce and a few crushed pecans. So tasty.
Okay, I’m off to get a quick yoga session in! I have big plans tonight that include dinner at Aperitivo Bistro and some Hellions of Troy Roller Derby! π
