Green Tea Obsession
Its no surprise that I’m obsessed with tea! I gave up drinking coffee four years ago and switched to tea and haven’t looked back since. I drink a cup of green tea at least once a day, if not two times. I love it! A year and a half ago while I was in Woodstock, I stopped at the Harney & Sons tea shop and bought a tin of organic green tea with citrus & ginko loose leaf tea and fell in love. It is such a flavorful green tea! It doesn’t even need a sweetener (although honey makes it taste even more amazing).
Note: I was not paid to blog about this tea, I’m just declaring my love for it!
It comes in a 4oz baggie of loose leaf tea.
I use a loose leaf tea brewer that I purchased at tea shop a long time ago, and I’m so glad I bought it. It is one of the best inventions ever.
You just put a teaspoon of loose leaf tea in, boil your water, then pour the water in and let the tea brew for 3-5 minutes.
Then you drain the tea into your mug of choice and you have freshly brewed tea. Love it.
What is your favorite tea?
Some runners up for favorite tea are: Tazo Zen (green), Tazo Awake (black), and pretty much any fruity roobios tea, I have yet to find a favorite.

I can’t believe you haven’t had coffee in four years! That’s pretty amazing. I love tea and I miss the whistling kettle- Brian and I still order loose leaf tea from there 🙂 My current fave is a caramel apple blend.

There have been a few days lately when I seriously considered drinking it again, but I knew my stomach wouldn’t like that!

My favorite tea of all time is “Bord de Mar” by Thes C.G.. It is a rooibis with Italian citrus fruits. Apparently they have a shop in Montreal: Montreal, Quebec, 9443 Rue L. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a way to order it online.
The Daily Grind in Troy also has a nice selection of loose leaf tea, and I found a nice rooibis there as well.

I’ve been thinking of getting into loose leaf teas lately. I switched from coffee to tea in February with my cleanse, and I’m never going back.

Chinese jasmine tea, Japanese green tea with brown rice and the local “teh tarik” (tea + condensed creamer).

Yogi’s Simply Green Tea is really delightful for a plain green tea. Their Antioxidant Tea is really yummy too, I like that when I feel run down. But my favorite tea isn’t a tea at all – I’m a big fan of yerba mate. I’m disappointed Hannaford stopped stocking the EcoTeas brand, the alternative brand isn’t quite as good, but I can still find Eco Tea’s Yerba Mate at Dean’s and other places. I have a really cool travel press from Planetary Designs (via Amazon)…in fact, I have two for coffee and one dedicated only to tea. Bagged tea is a pain once you get used to leaves!
