Running to Lock 7

This morning I met Melissa for a run at the Niskayuna Bike Path! I haven’t been up here since last fall when the leaves were starting to turn! This time the leaves were gone.

It was pretty windy when we started and we planned for 3 miles out and 3 miles back since Melissa had 6 miles on her training plan! We ended up stopping at Lock 7 to see the waterfall at the Lock.

Of all my times running here I never stopped to see it. I think when I was in 4th grade we took a field trip on the Dutch Apple boat and went through this lock, but that was SO long ago!

It was pretty neat.

I also decided to run the hill at the baseball park just because I love the view (not because I need to do hillwork, ha!)

I always feel like I’m going to die at the top of that hill. Anyway, Melissa and I ran back to the car and she stopped at 6 miles and we said our goodbyes. I had another 4 to run so I ran the rest of the way by myself.

Total Distance – 10.02 miles

Time – 1:33:47

Average Pace – 9:21/mile

I was STARVING after my run, so Chris and I went to our favorite brunch spot, Xs to Os Bakery! Today’s brunch was a “garbage plate”, vegan mac & cheese, bbq soy curls, sweet & sour cabbage, and sweet potato hash!

It was really tasty and Chris liked his plate, too.

And that was how I spent Saturday morning!
