Gravel Gobbler Big Bird – 11.6.21
Better late than never right? The Gravel Gobbler was my final big gravel ride of the year. And it turned out to be a gorgeous day and great ride! (Currently it’s the middle of winter and I’m pining for days like this.) Anyway, the Gravel Gobbler is one of my favorite local gravel events. This time the course was reversed, however there was still a lot of climbing. One of my favorite parts of the ride was riding Seven Bridges Road in reverse (a fun downhill). Since it’s been almost 4 months since this ride, I’ll just leave you with some photos.
Route Overview
In other news, I’m having a new bike built! I ordered a Kona Rove DL frame through Evergreen Bicycle Works and they are currently building it from the frame up, completely custom! I highly recommend checking out this bike shop if you are ever up in the Fort Edward/Glens Falls area, they are great!
To say I’m excited is an understatement. I cannot wait until it’s done! I have some big gravel rides on the calendar this spring to celebrate.
April 3 The Toad Strangler (38 miles)
April 9 The GREAT NORTH (55 miles–what was I thinking?)
April 23 The B2G2 (39 miles)
May 15 The Farmer’s Daughter (40 miles OR 65 miles?)
I have been training a lot on my spin bike since I don’t have a road or gravel bike currently, so I’m looking forward to getting some long saddle time in soon in preparation for these upcoming big spring rides.
