Dashing like a Warrior

Yesterday Chris, my sister and I ran our second Warrior Dash! Well, it was my sister’s first Warrior Dash and first race ever! The Warrior Dash is a 3.2 mile mud run with a bunch of different obstacles scattered throughout the course.

Our wave was at 11:30, so we got ready and headed to the start.

The start, which includes a 1.5 mile climb straight up Windham Mountain.

The course was almost the same as last year, except there were a few more obstacles in the first 1.5 miles. Last time they were at the top of the mountain and more as you were going down.

Obviously I couldn’t bring my camera with me on the course, but the obstacles were a lot harder than last year! But still, they weren’t anything I couldn’t handle.

I stayed with my sister the whole time! The first half was pretty brutal since she wasn’t used to running straight up a mountain. We took it slow and walked for most of it, which was okay in my book!

Finally we hit the obstacles and she was feeling a little bit better.

Done!!! My sister did such an awesome job! The Warrior Dash is tough for your first race ever.

We met Chris at the finish line, he did great..what a speed demon!

After hosing off the mud (it was everywhere) we went to get our free beer included with race registration!

After the run, we all headed to Cave Mountain Brewery for a meal (and more beer!)

Another successful mud run in the books–I’ll definitely be back next year!
