College Days
So far I’ve had a pretty relaxing weekend! Saturday started with an early morning yoga class, which was awesome, as always. My friend Katie from work went with me again and it is always nice going with a friend. I really really love the Ashtanga class at the Pilates Principal. I’m so glad I bought that groupon! After four classes in two weeks, I’m starting to feel strong! The instructor even complemented me on my fish pose!

After yoga class, Katie and I headed to Fresh Market! We ended up grocery shopping when we just wanted to wander around…such is life! I got some pretty good deals on a few things!
Then it was time to meet a few of my college friends for brunch! We went to the new Capital City Diner (formerly Metro 20).
We ended up spending the whole meal reminiscing about our crazy college days.
Sometimes I can’t believe it will be almost FOUR years since I graduated from college! Time really does fly.
For my lunch at Capital City Diner I got an veggie egg white omelet with feta cheese, home fries and toast! So much food!
It was pretty good. Typical diner food.
After brunch I hung out with the girls a little while longer, and then headed back home to relax! I had a really nice evening to myself, which included doing my nails, watching a movie, and making some of Anne’s Five Minute No Bake Bars! Gotta love evenings to myself! 🙂

This morning for breakfast pre-workout I had some yogurt and a no bake bar. When I was at the Fresh Market Siggi’s yogurt was 2 for $4. (Interesting fact: Siggi’s is made in Chenango County, NY!) Still, it was pretty expensive, but I wanted to treat myself to some tasty yogurt!
The yogurt it self was interesting…it was really bitter, and it said on the back they use agave to sweeten it. The flavor was okay…I wouldn’t buy the orange and ginger flavor again. I still have a pomegranate left, and I hope that one is better. I guess I am just partial to my Chobani! 🙂 The granola bars are delicious! And they are SUPER easy to make.
After breakfast I went to the gym for a 45 minute arc trainer workout followed by some crunches and a few pushups. Getting there was a pain though, because it snowed AGAIN last night, and the roads were still slick. I’m getting tired of this constant snow!
After I came home from the gym, I made a delicious avocado + cheese sandwich on a toasted sandwich thin! I got avocados at the Fresh Market on sale! I used half the avocado and stored the rest in the fridge with the pit still in it, wrapped in foil. I hope it stays fresh that way! The sandwich is so simple but so amazing!
Now I’m off. Today I’m making some of Jenna’s Buffalo Chicken Dip and some Hummus for a football game later!! GO STEELERS! 🙂

I was an avid fan of Metro 20 for years! I knew it wasn’t the best diner food, but it was comforting. I’ve tried the Capital City twice since it opened under new ownership… the food was definitely decent, but I had some of the worst service EVER. It makes me sad because I love the diner, but I don’t know if I’d go back. I would be more likely to go back if I hadn’t heard a few other people I know had the same exact problem 🙁
I want to try that yoga class so badly! I wish I didn’t work Saturday mornings… we’ll have to plan a Saturday so I can take off of work 😀
You know my mouth is watering at the thought of that Buffalo Chicken Dip lol

Ah, yes, Chobani or home-made. Come over sometime, if you want to try my home-made yogurt.
I’ve been to Capital City Diner once since it opened – decent food, but service sooo slooooowwww. And I’m a pretty patient person. I’ll give it a second chance; maybe they’re still working the kinks out, but who knows?

You’re breaking my heart. Rooting for the Steelers and you’re from NY?!

Chris is a steelers fan so I would be shunned if I didn’t! 😉 (pssst: I don’t really care that much about football..haha)
Work friend Katie :)
Jen, your fish pose rocked… I was in awe! By the way, it’s only 11:20 right now and I want that avocado sandwich in the worst way!!!!
