    A Dose of History

I had Friday morning to myself in Philly while Chris went to some seminars for his conference. I wandered around historic Old City to see some of the sights. It was raining but not too hard, so it didn’t stop me from looking around! This place is so full of history! Pretty decent photos from my phone, no? My point and shoot’s battery died the other night and I forgot to pack my charger! I found the Liberty Bell! I thought it was going to be bigger for some reason? The tour guide man said it cracked from being rung so many times, and they possibly rang it the wrong…

    My Favorite Winter Running Gear

At the beginning of winter, I was really struggling to find the perfect running clothes. Last winter I ran on the treadmill all season, but this year I wanted to do some of my running outside. After running the Winter Marathon Relay last weekend I realized I knew what worked for me. Here are some of my favorite winter running items! Nike Ripstop Running Jacket This jacket is awesome because it really keeps you warm when faced with the elements. I’ve never worn it while it was raining, but I’m…

We then had to mix each together in a big bowl and then form them into patties (we made six total–leftovers!)  They still came out pretty good! They had really good flavor, but were a bit crumbly.  Nothing ketchup can’t solve! Any tips on how to get them to be more moist? Tuesday’s…

Florida Beer and Lots of Chocolate

Today was a good day! This afternoon my parents and I drove to Melbourne (where I ran the 8K on Saturday) to check out the Florida Beer Company. They have a tasting room, and not much else! You can see where they make the beer but they do not have any tours. They had a lot of beer to taste! I tried.. Hurricane Reef Raspberry Wheat Hurricane Reef Pale Ale Florida Beer Swamp Ape IPA Irish Kelly’s Raspberry Cider The cider was my favorite, of course, because it was sweet. All of them were pretty decent, except the Swamp Ale. It was SO strong, I don’t think I could ever…

    Fun Gift Ideas

I cannot believe that there are only four days until Christmas. For some reason I feel like the holiday season has lasted forever (considering I heard Christmas music at the mall on November 1!) After my office holiday party I felt like Christmas had already come and gone-but actually didn’t happen yet. How odd. Now, for those of you stumped on what to get a someone who has a slight obsession with food, fitness and whatnot (or as I was originally going to title this post:  “Gifts for a Health-Conscious Foodie/Runner/Fitness Lover” ) but decided that was too long–here is a list of gift ideas. And these items may or may not…
