Fun Gift Ideas

I cannot believe that there are only four days until Christmas. For some reason I feel like the holiday season has lasted forever (considering I heard Christmas music at the mall on November 1!) After my office holiday party I felt like Christmas had already come and gone-but actually didn’t happen yet. How odd.

Now, for those of you stumped on what to get a someone who has a slight obsession with food, fitness and whatnot (or as I was originally going to title this post:  “Gifts for a Health-Conscious Foodie/Runner/Fitness Lover” ) but decided that was too long–here is a list of gift ideas. And these items may or may not be on my wishlist. 😉

Cookbooks/Books About Food! I LOVE cookbooks. Especially ones with pretty pictures. I have tons of cookbooks and love paging through them to find good recipe ideas, especially if I get bored with what I’ve been making lately. I can always look up something new and exciting dish to make. I’m also a big fan of books ABOUT food–like The Omnivore’s Dilemma, for example.

Eat, Drink & Be Vegan (I’m not vegan but I love this cookbook.)

Running or Fitness Gadgets. I’ve said this in the past but I love running gadgets. I even wrote a post about my favorite ones. A great gift idea for the runner in your life might be something like a cold weather running jacket or a long sleeve technical t-shirt for those cold winter runs! I recently bought myself a running jacket for Christmas, but have yet to actually try it out.

Energy Gus and Gels make great stocking stuffers for your runner friend! I wouldn’t mind getting these in my stocking to get me through long half marathon training runs.

Yoga Studio Membership or Race Registration. Many yoga studios and gyms offer holiday packages in case you’re wondering to get a yogi for Christmas! You can even find really cute hand made yoga mat bags available on Etsy to give with your gift package!

I’ve been also getting tons of emails about holiday race registrations. Personally, I think this is a great idea for someone who loves to run races and has their eye on some in 2011. I know the Pittsburgh Marathon has holiday gift registrations and I’m sure most do as well! (I got the email since I’m already registered for the half!)

I could go on and on about Christmas gifts, but these items would be ideal for anyone health oriented like myself! 😉 Happy shopping!
