Florida Beer and Lots of Chocolate

Today was a good day!

This afternoon my parents and I drove to Melbourne (where I ran the 8K on Saturday) to check out the Florida Beer Company. They have a tasting room, and not much else! You can see where they make the beer but they do not have any tours.

They had a lot of beer to taste!

I tried..

  • Hurricane Reef Raspberry Wheat
  • Hurricane Reef Pale Ale
  • Florida Beer Swamp Ape IPA
  • Irish Kelly’s Raspberry Cider

The cider was my favorite, of course, because it was sweet.

All of them were pretty decent, except the Swamp Ale. It was SO strong, I don’t think I could ever drink an entire bottle of that!

After beer tasting, we went to the historic part of Melbourne to check out the shops. It had a very Lake George-ish vibe.

There was a shoe store where I went in and tried on some Vibram Five Fingers, just for the heck of it.

I was surprised they actually fit my toes! They didn’t have my size so the pair I tried on were too big in the back, but they were pretty comfy! Maybe this spring I will see if I can find a pair in my size. Maybe a birthday present to myself? πŸ™‚

Anyway, enough dreaming. In Melbourne, we also stopped a candy shop called Kilwin’s.

They had so much chocolate. See the chocolate space shuttles at the bottom??

I left there with a toasted coconut and carmel covered graham cracker.

It was heavenly. I also got a peanut butter and dark chocolate covered s’more, that I’m saving for later! πŸ™‚

Okay, I’m off to research the Vibrams! Hope everyone is having a great week!

Question: have you ever tried the Vibram Five Fingers? Thoughts?
