Jillian Michaels’ Shred It With Weights Workout Video Review

It’s been a long time since I wrote a workout video review, so here you go! I’m a big fan of Jillian Michaels’ workout DVDs (when I actually do them…I have a hard time getting motivated to do workout videos at home) and this one is one of my new favorites, Shred it With Weights. I bought the video on Amazon Prime for $8.00, which is the streaming version, so its easy to just load up Amazon video and do it.

So far I’ve done it twice, and I liked it each time. The Level 1 video is 30 minutes long and includes basic kettlebell moves. I bought a kettlebell a while ago thinking I’d use it all the time, but its pretty hard to do without some specific instruction. Jillian provides some so it makes it pretty easy to do. My kettlebell is 15 pounds, and some of the moves are hard to do with that weight, so I use my dumbbells to make it a bit easier. The whole thing can also be done with just dumbbells if you don’t own a kettlebell.

I like that the session is 30 minutes, so its easy to do when I’m pressed for time, which lately is all the time. I managed a quick but effective workout before work in the morning. I was dripping sweat afterward! I’m not sure how long the level 2 version is, but I’m going to try that one next.
