    What to do on a Snow Day

    What is a girl to do when she is snowed in? Brew some Snow in the Tropics tea, of course! Then, look outside. Definitely not the tropics. 🙁 Decide to go snowshowing. But first, find snowshoes for $3 at a garage sale!    Snowshoeing in the woods is so peaceful! I might go back out there later… After snowshoeing, make a cheddar and superfruit jam sandwich. Enjoy while watching Sunrise Earth on TV. And pretend I’m at the beach. Did you get tons of snow today? If so–what do you do during your “Snow Day”?

    Where Do Your Eggs Come From?

    Do you know where your eggs come from? I do! These cute girls!! Aren’t they adorable? They belong to my neighbors, and thankfully my neighbors provide me with fresh eggs once every couple of weeks. The eggs obviously have to be cleaned with cold water before you really do anything with them, but c’mon, this is local! I feel so much better knowing where my eggs come from, and that these chickens are living a happy life in their warm little coop.     I Need a Plan

    Okay, since my races are pretty much over for 2010, I’m feeling a bit lost! My main goal right now is to PR at my next 5K, which is two weeks from today. My last 5K was in June, when I ran the Capital Pride 5K in 26:10. Since then, I’ve been training for distance, but my pace for my long runs has gone from 10:54/mile to 9:12/mile. That’s pretty speedy! But I haven’t pushed myself to run a fast 5K since June! I’m eager to see what I can do with that distance now. So, for the next two weeks my plan is to work do speedwork a few…

    There’s Nothing Better Than Free Yoga

    There’s nothing better than yoga bright and early in the morning on Saturday. 🙂 Especially when it’s a FREE class! The Breathing Room is having a special for October–-free yoga on Saturday mornings at 9AM – 10AM. And it was wonderful. The studio is small but cute and has such a relaxing atmosphere. I loved it. It was basic yoga, so beginners were more than welcome. The stretching felt really nice and it was so calming. This is one of the reasons why I love taking actual yoga classes.     Home Made Maple Peanut Butter

    Lately I have been obsessed with Strawberry Salads. I go through salad phases. Sometimes I despise them and sometimes I love them. Weird. Lately, I’m loving the strawberry, spinach, and feta with raspberry dressing. My packed lunch. One of my new favorite dressings is Newman’s Own Light Raspberry & Walnut. So tasty. So fresh!
