    Sure Signs of Spring

Yesterday was the first day so far this season that I’ve felt like it’s actually springtime. The trees are blooming with buds and the grass is finally green! I’ve been waiting 6 months for warm weather, and yesterday we got it, with a high of 73. It was perfect. I was supposed to run 7 miles last night but with this weather I just couldn’t resist taking my new bike out for a ride. I love it! I rode 13.6 miles total–and felt great afterward. I even made a stop at Albany’s Buckingham Park to see the fountains–a sure sign of Spring! My Grandma used to take my sister and…

    Fun Run with Girlnetic

As you might remember, last month I went to the Girlnetic Fitness Event Kickoff. The kickoff was the start to a series of fitness events in the capital region geared toward women who want to get into fitness and have fun. I wanted to take advantage of these free events and saw that last night they were hosting a five mile fun run at the Crossings. Weekend Happenings

Friday night: Friday was pretty low key! I made some home made pizza for Chris and myself, complete with some cheese from the Cheese Traveler. It was DELICIOUS and one of the best pizzas I’ve made so far! The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the fake sausage–the lightlife brand. It didn’t even taste like sausage–just like fake meat product. At least it added a bit of a protein, but the rest of the pizza was really good. The cheese we used was mostly mozzarella but also some slices of Havarti from Demark. Chris went to the Cheese Traveler to pick up some. It was pretty fantastic on…

    Valentine’s Dinner at Pump Station

I hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day! Hope it was better than Grumpy Cat’s… Our V-day dinner was nice and low key. We went out right after work before the big crowds hit. Chris and I went to the Pump Station, one of our favorite local brewery/restaurants. I ordered the 10oz Bock, which was very tasty! I really like that they have the option of the smaller size, too, in case I didn’t end up liking it that much. Thankfully I liked it! Chris got the onion rings, which I’d never tried before. They are beer-battered and not overly fried, which I really liked! The crispy coating was…
