    Trail Running at Five Rivers

I’ve said it a million times on this blog, but I really do love trail running. As you can see, last night I went out for my first run since May 26. My foot was feeling great. I applied some Topricin to my heel before I left, made sure to stretch well, and drove with my friend Loretta to Five Rivers for the Albany Running Exchange’s Trail Run that they host every Thursday night at a different location. Last night was at one of my all time favorite places to run, Five Rivers! Last night was the first night in what seemed like forever where it wasn’t a billion degrees…

    Weekend Report

Happy Monday. Well, I had a pretty good weekend. It was HOT and gorgeous! Friday night after work Chris and I went to dinner at Sitar, an Indian restaurant on Central Avenue. Its been awhile since I did a local restaurant review! We ordered the sampler of appetizers, which came with veggie samosas and pakoras with a mint dipping sauce. Everything was delicious and full of flavor. My favorite her were the pakoras. For dinner I got the Navratan Korma (from the menu: mixed vegetables cooked with Indian cheese, cream, onions, & tomato gravy mildly spiced). It was delicious and so filling. Indian food isn’t complete without delicious naan, either.…

    2013 Workforce Team Challenge

Thursday night was a perfect night for a race! A few co-workers and I walked to the Empire State Plaza for my FOURTH Workforce Challenge 3.5 mile race! There was a slight breeze, and I think it was around 80 degrees. We hung around the museum steps for about an hour just chatting. {me and my co-worker, Grace. HEY GRACE!} Finally, with about 20 minutes to go, we walked down to the starting line. I decided in the beginning that I was going to take my time. Its impossible to start out this race fast–there is just too many people. The course is very similar to the Freihofer’s Run, with…

    Bike to Work Today

Today is bike to work day! My office does a big “Green Your Commute” Day every year, where they encourage employees to ride, take the bus, walk, or carpool to work. They have raffles and events at lunchtime.  In the past I’ve taken the bus and carpooled on that day. Usually on any given day, I can’t take the bus because I have class straight after work, but I have a break in between spring and summer session where I can ride to work. I finally faced my fear and rode my bike to work. I’ve been wanting to do it for ages, and finally just forced myself to do…

Weekend Goodness: Margaritas, Sombreros and a Gorgeous Wedding

What a beautiful weekend we had here…it was pretty exciting. Friday night I celebrated my birthday with some friends at El Mariachi. It was such a gorgeous night! I was hoping to be out on the patio but we weren’t, it was still fun though!  The margaritas are amazing at El Mariachi. I ordered the Enchiladas el Mariachi, my favoriteeee dish from here. So glad I got to celebrate with such good friends. Sadly my sister and her boyfriend were absent since they had a wedding to go to in PORTLAND, OR. (I am so jealous!) But we managed to have an awesome time. They even gave me some flan…
