Carbo-loading with Giovanni Rana Pastas
Last night I had the opportunity to host a pasta party courtesy of Giovanni Rana pasta! They sent me all different types of their fresh pasta to cook for myself, Chris and some friends. The idea they had was to have a carbo-loading pasta party for those of us who are runners! Thankfully I’m training for a marathon so I this worked out pretty perfect!
A few of my runner friends came over and Chris cooked up the fresh pasta. I still can’t get over how fresh and delicious the pasta is.
We had the cheese tortellini, spinach and ricotta ravioli, artichoke ravioli, and the fettuccine, along with three types of sauces: the marinara, pesto (my favorite) and the bolognese sauce. Excuse my poor excuse for “serving” bowls.
We also had a side salad and some roasted veggies to have with the pasta!
I had a the ravioli and the tortellini with the pesto, with side salad and asparagus.
I really LOVED the spinach and ricotta ravioli. I loved the tortellini, too, and I can’t pick a favorite. We had such a great time! The pasta was so delicious and the folks at Rana were awesome to make sure I got the pastas in time for the party since we had a freak snow storm Friday morning!
disclaimer: this post is sponsored by Giovanni Rana pastas. They provided me with pasta in exchange for hosting a pasta party and blogging about my experience.

I will be looking for the pasta and the sauces at the supermarket. We usually eat whole wheat pasta so this was a treat. I liked the pesto sauce, but I didn’t read the label.
Thanks again for having me over to try it, and thanks to Rana.
