Weekend in NJ

One of my birthday presents from my sister this year was a ticket to see The Killers (one of my favorite bands!) in New Jersey this past weekend. Sunday morning, I drove down to NJ where my sister’s boyfriend Brian lives, since we were staying with him. It was my first time driving so far out of state, and honestly it wasn’t that bad! I was a tad nervous at first but the drive was smooth, minus some minor traffic on the NJ turnpike. 3.5 hours later I was in South Jersey.

After I got there, Brian drove us to Philly (only about 20 minutes from his house–they live on the NJ/PA border!) for lunch. We hit up Lorenzos, a place on South Street with the best cheese slices.

The slices are huge–bigger than I remember from the time Chris and I came here.

After pizza, we walked up and down South Street, stopped to see the Magic Gardens really quick, then went back to the car and drove back t0 NJ. Quickest trip to Philly, ever.

I managed to get in a nap before going to Camden with Brian and Julie for the concert. The show was at the Susquehanna Bank Center and we had lawn seats. It was drizzling, but thankfully it let up when the Killers started.

We also had a decent view of the stage! The show was awesome!

During the concert, I realized I first heard the Killers at a college party in 2004…nine years ago. It was love at first sound…they are one of my favorite bands. It was great to finally see them live! I also loved spending time with my sister before she moves to New Jersey …this weekend!
