Tour of the Indian River Lagoon
This morning Chris and I did something touristy. We went on a River Cruise a few miles away from my parents’ house. The cruise advertised dolphin and manatee sightings so we wanted to check it out to see some of Florida’s wildlife.
The weather was perfect for a boat ride!
Here are a few photos from the cruise.
And yes, we did see a lot of bottlenose dolphins!
And LOTS of birds…mostly pelicans.
And an osprey too.
The manatees must have been hiding….but it was still an awesome boat ride…perfect for relaxing and taking in the scenery.
After the cruise, it was right about lunch time so we went back to Mulligan’s for food. More views of the river…yes!
Chris and I each got a drink. I went with the Sangria. It was delicious.
We both split the fish dip for an appetizer, which was a tasty mix of a bunch of different fish–it was really good.
For lunch I got the fish tacos, since I remembered that they were pretty good from the last time I was here. Since I ate the dip beforehand I only had room for 1 taco but brought the rest home. They were good, but not as good as I remember…
So far vacation as been perfect! I’m off to Key West tomorrow, and then hitting up Miami Beach on Wednesday. It should be exciting!

I will now always associate Sangria with HLS Philly. In the best way possible. <3 🙂

I am so jealous of the Indian River tour. I’ve been obsessed with manatees since I was little, and my mother in law tried to organize a swim with the manatees experience for me when we go down to Florida in April, but the husband put the kibosh on it because he thought it was weird and dangerous 🙁

OMG! You should! They are def. not dangerous…that I know of! They are like harmless sea cows! I actually saw them in the wild for the FIRST TIME EVER today on the way back from the Keys at the start of the seven mile bridge. We happened to stop and take some pictures and two of them were swimming around and were coming up for air every few minutes. I had been wanting to see some this whole trip. It was awesome! You can usually spot them on swimming near docks or bridges..they go under water but have to come up for air and they move pretty slowly. Hope you have a great time when you go down!
