    A Pre-Race Lunch Date

The day before our big race, Heather and I hung out in Troy. We grabbed a late lunch at Spill ‘N the Beans Coffeehouse. Heather was a bit nervous for the race, but I told her she had nothing to worry about! And I was right because she finished and did great! I was sad that the restaurant didn’t have breakfast since they stopped serving it at 1pm on Saturdays. We got there around 2ish. Dang. I decided to take the panini route and got the portabella panini with mozzarella. And also a delish iced green tea! The sandwich itself was so cheesy! They went overboard on the mozzarella. A…

Girls’ Night Out and a Wet Long Run

Happy Saturday! Last night was girl’s night! Every few months my college girlfriends and I like to get together to meet for dinner & drinks. Last night we met at Brown’s Brewery for some tasty brews and and a delicious meal! I ordered one of my favorites at Brown’s, the Cherry Raspberry Ale, complete with the cherry! The veggie burger was a bit drier than usual, but still tasty. I ate half to save room for…

I love them because they have all local and unique handmade goods! We were standing in the store when the shop owner said she saw Parker Posey, the actress, walk by! We were shocked…why would an actress be in Troy? We walked down to a store down the street and I walked in while she was walking out. It was so weird being so close to a movie star! I wonder why she was in Troy? (source) Anyway, after our celebrity sighting,…

    Enjoying Troy

Today was a pretty low key day. I woke up pretty early to get in a short two mile run. I tried to work some speedwork into it. I did 2 miles in about 20 minutes on the treadmill. It was a nice wake up call! A smoothie for breakfast followed. (Recycled smoothie photo!) In my smoothie this morning: 1 cup almond milk 1/2 packet of Nutribiotic brown rice protein + flax handful of frozen cherries 3 fresh strawberries After my run, I spent the morning with my good friend Marcie! I’ve known Marcie since 8th grade (we were in drama club together!) and she is also a blogger for…
