A Pre-Race Lunch Date
The day before our big race, Heather and I hung out in Troy. We grabbed a late lunch at Spill ‘N the Beans Coffeehouse. Heather was a bit nervous for the race, but I told her she had nothing to worry about! And I was right because she finished and did great!
I was sad that the restaurant didn’t have breakfast since they stopped serving it at 1pm on Saturdays. We got there around 2ish. Dang. I decided to take the panini route and got the portabella panini with mozzarella.
And also a delish iced green tea!
The sandwich itself was so cheesy! They went overboard on the mozzarella. A few other vegetables would have been nice. The portabella slices got lost in the sea of cheese. 🙁 It should have had way more mushroom and less cheese, in my opinion, but now I know for next time.
We also ended up making a quick stop for dessert. I had to introduce Heather to one of my favorite places in Troy, Xs to Os Vegan Bakery. We each got a tasty treat. I picked the oatmeal cream pie, since I had it one other time and fell in love!
I ate half a little while later while we watched TV at my place.
And the other half much much later on the ride up to Utica…

Vegan oatmeal cream pies make some good pre-race fuel, I must say.
Now, I am off to the gym for some Body Pump! I haven’t been in a week and I just might be having withdrawals. My arms feel flabbier already…bring on the weights!
