Girls Night in Troy
Last night my sister and a few friends and I met for dinner and drinks in Troy. It was also Troy Night Out so that was a bonus! We had dinner at Illium Cafe! Dinner was very tasty, even if service was a tad slow. I got a glass of Malbec and ordered the vegetarian pad thai with tofu. The wine was very tasty–I really like reds lately. The pad thai was made with rice noodles and had peanut sauce–very good! It wasn’t too heavy of a dish either, which was nice. After dinner we went into one of the photography shops and looked around just for fun, then headed…

Merry Christmas.
Is it just me or did Christmas come up so fast? I feel like I was running through the summer heat not that long ago! Anyway, I hope you all have a great Christmas! Chris left on Friday to visit his family, so Thursday night we cooked dinner together and exchanged presents. I got him a jersey and shirt of his favorite German soccer team and he gave me a bunch of my favorite Trader Joe’s items (!!) and this, a race medal display!! I am THRILLED because my bibs and medals have been scattered all throughout my apartment. I finally have a place to hang them. Saturday my sister…

Pottery Class Creations
Back in October my friend Caitlyn and I signed up to take a pottery class at Broken Mold Studio in Troy. I’m finally writing about it because today I picked up our finished products! Anyway, I bought an online deal for a class for 2 at the studio and since I’ve been wanting to take a pottery class for a while I figured why not? We each got a piece of clay and learned the basic techniques on how to “throw” the clay and use the foot petal to move the wheel. We each made a little pot! Mine is on the left and Caitlyn’s is on the right. AND…

Ali Baba Mediterranean
Saturday night my friend Lyndsay was in town and wanted to introduce me to the wonder that is AliBaba restaurant. I’m a fan of Mediterranean food so I was excited. 🙂 It was nothing fancy inside but they had pretty generous seating. We were seated as soon as we got in (it was pretty much empty) and then the server took our food and drink orders right away. We also got this huge puffy bread, which deflates once you rip it apart, which was an exciting surprise. It came with an awesome dipping sauce, which I promptly slathered on my bread. We also split an order of grape leaves to…

Dinner at Greek House
My Friday night this past weekend was exciting! I had a running date at the track with my friends Melissa and Caitlyn. We got there after the sun went down and only some of the lights were on. Thankfully, like the running nerds we are, Melissa and I brought our headlamps! They worked out pretty well, but about halfway through our run they turned the lights on! It was almost 7pm on a Friday and there were other people running out on the track, so it wasn’t creepy at all! The three of us ran 3.0 miles in a speedy 27 minutes. I don’t know what it is about the…
