    Weekend Happenings

First off, Happy Father’s Day to my Dad! Later this afternoon we’re picking up a Pizza from one of my Dad’s favorite pizza places and heading over to my parents to celebrate. Hope you’re having a great Dad’s Day so far. 🙂 Friday night Chris and I decided to put our CSA veggies to use and made a pizza. I whipped up some dough on Thursday night and had it ready to go for Friday when we got home. We got spinach in our CSA box this week–and it was delicious. It was so fresh and flavorful, better than any spinach I’ve ever tasted! We made huge bowls of spinach…

    Recovering with Cheribundi

I have something fun to announce! You might remember a few months ago I reviewed Cheribundi, the tart cherry juice. Well, yesterday I got an awesome package. Cheribundi has offered to send me cases of tart juice to refuel with during marathon training! I’m so excited. Tart cherry juice has amazing benefits when consumed after an intense workout, it is supposed to reduce muscle soreness decrease inflammation. Distinguished Service 8 Mile Race

I had been debating all week whether or not to run today’s 8.0 mile race at SUNY Albany, which was put on by the HMRRC, one of Albany’s running groups. You may know they put on the Winter Series, which I usually participate in. I figured for $6, a bare bones race around an uncrowded, flat course was what I needed to get my out of my race slump. I wasn’t feeling in the mood to race this morning, so I put on a cute running outfit to motivate me. It worked! I ended up meeting Kristin there so I was glad to have a buddy run with! We are…

    Music I Run To

I have been meaning to write a post about this for a while, so I think its time to share with you the music I run to! You will not find me running to slow music. I am extremely picky with my workout music. The songs have to be upbeat. I usually prefer hip hop/dance/electronic music to get me in the groove while I am running. Right now I’m into: Justice – Genesis – I just discovered this group and they are so good to run to! Deadmau5 – Ghosts N Stuff – this song has been on my running playlist for almost a year…and it always gets me motivated…
