Laurie’s Granola Review

A few weeks ago I was contacted by Laurie and Amanda of Laurie’s Granola Creations to try out some of their home made granola! They are based out of Farmingdale, NY and currently sell their granola in a few mom and pop stores and a few farmer’s markets on Long Island.

Since I’m all for supporting New York businesses (especially a small one just getting started!) I jumped on the chance to review the granola. I brought a pack to munch on during the drive down to the Catskills this past weekend–a perfect pre-hike snack if you ask me! (But really, I’ll eat granola whenever, who am I kidding.)

I brought the one made with organic dates, and it was delicious. It was perfectly crisp with large granola chunks in the bag, and had a sweet taste from the dates (but not overly sweet), and a really nice coconut flavor, too. Snacking on this actually kept me full the entire hike up Slide Mountain, and I was impressed.

Later in the week I tried the original flavor, which tasted just like my own home made granola, which I happen to love (maybe I’m biased…) but it was just as good. I put some on top of my whole wheat, blueberry pancakes this morning (In case you are wondering, they were pancakes from this past weekend that I just reheated for breakfast! I wish I had time to make pancakes on a week day!) The granola added a perfect little crunch.
