In Burgatory

After finishing our half marathon, Chris, Jess, her parents and I headed to the Waterworks to get some lunch at Burgatory.

Apparently we weren’t the only runners with this idea–the place was full of marathoners! (Spy the green shirts?)

This place is big on burgers to say the least. I was so excited when I spotted a home made veggie burger on the menu.

Ground Cremini Mushrooms, Lentils, Cashews and Cracked Wheat mixed with about a million secret ingredients. Topped with Smoked Gouda, Baby Arugula, Tomato and Avocado Wasabi on a Whole Wheat Bun.

I actually went for the “make your own burger”–the veggie burger on a whole wheat bun with farmer’s cheddar, guacamole, banana peppers, tomato, arugula and the “angel dust” rub.

It was the best veggie burger I’ve ever had.

The burger was thick and juicy, didn’t fall apart and was so full of flavor! I cleaned my plate, chips and all.

I also had a blueberry wheat beer to go along with it–but I only drank half.

Burgatory also has amazing shakes. Sadly, I didn’t get it one since I knew it probably wouldn’t sit in my stomach well after the race. I definitely want to come back here the next time I’m in Pittsburgh for the veggie burger AND possibly a shake. 😉

Burgatory gets an A+ in my book. If their veggie burger was that good, I bet their actual burgers are amazing.
