More Favorite Beauty Products

One of my favorite things is make up! I love finding good deals on make up and trying new products. I figured I would share some of my favorite things with you all! This isn’t a sponsored post by any means, but I love reading make up blogs about beauty and wanted to switch things up a little bit.

First, I really like any form of makeup removal wipe. I always bring them with my when I travel because they are really convenient and smell great. I really like this version from Rite Aid’s Renewal line. Its a lot cheaper than name brand versions and works just as great, and they usually have BOGO sales on them.

I also recently got a new retractable kabuki brush by Ecotools. I’ve tried another version of their kabuki but I found it was too wispy and got my mineral powder everywhere, except onto my face. I like the retractable version better because I feel it keeps the bristles clean and its thicker, so I get better make up coverage that way. Does that make sense?

Everything fits in my new favorite make up bag. This is actually a clutch, but I love using it to keep my make up essentials organized.  It is designed and hand sewn by my awesome cousin, Liz. You can find clutches like this in her Etsy shop, Something Ivory Coasty.

Now, the goods!

Sometimes when I get bored with my current make up I scour Sephora’s website and then cry over their prices. Why are they so expensive? Then I google dupes for name brands and usually find something extremely similar but a fraction of the cost that you can find at the drugstore.

Face

Some of my favorites lately are Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Light, which I use as a primer under my mineral makeup. It’s almost like a very light tinted moisturizer. I actually do feel like it has improved my skin tone and I’ve also been breaking out less since I started using it under my make-up, which I find unbelievable.

I use Physician’s Formula mineral makeup over that with my Ecotools retractable Kabuki brush. I’ve been using it for years and just love it. For blush, lately I’ve been using E.L.F. in Twinkle Pink (watch out if you try this one, a little dab goes a long way with this powdered blush!), sometimes the E.L.F. bronzer duo in St. Lucia. They both have a little bit of sparkle which I love.  I never used to use concealer under my eyes until I tried L’oreal Magic Lumi in fair. I love it so much, and I put it on top over my foundation when I’m done. To cover blemishes under my BB cream I use this Physician’s Formula cream concealer, but I haven’t needed it as much since I started using the BB cream.

Eyes

I do have an obsession with eye shadows. My favorite of all time is the Too Faced (in the photo above) in Glamazon. Unfortunately I don’t think they make it anymore so I had to search high and low until I found some on Amazon for an absurd price…thankfully they last me a really long time (years?). I’ll also buy some trios from Sephora but I find they don’t last as long. I finally tried the Maybelline Color Tattoo line recently and I do really like it–I have it in the pure pigments (almost like a powder) in Breaking Bronze and in the gel cream shadow in the Inked in Pink color . I love both versions! For eyeliners, I really like Tarte’s double sided eyeliner that I got with one of my favorite palates, but I haven’t found anything they make like that recently, so I decided to try the drugstore brand for some similar colors. I found Styli Style Line & Seal in Black  Pearl and Brown Quartz and they work pretty well. My favorite mascara for awhile had been DiorShow, but I think its life is coming to an end and I didn’t want to purchase it again, so I found a new love! I really like Maybelline’s Rocket Volum’ Mascara. Dare I say I like it much better than Dior? And its loads cheaper.
