    Portabella Burger Baby

Happy Friday! 🙂 It’s my favorite day of the week! I had one of my favorite meals for dinner tonight. A portabella burger. Yum! But more on that in a bit. Last night I had a tempo run scheduled, so I headed to the gym for that. I ran 5 miles in about 52 minutes. And I had kind of a hard time. For the first two miles my stomach felt like a rock! I have no idea why…I ate a lot of fruit during the day, including pineapple. Maybe that’s why? I love pineapple, but sometimes it doesn’t agree with me! I did a one mile warm up, and…

    Monday Musings

Does anyone else hate Mondays? I’m so glad Monday is over. So yesterday I had a nice relaxing Sunday. I recovered from the Freihofer’s/DMB Concert by running a seven mile Long Run as part of my Boilermaker training! I woke up later than usual…at 9 AM! That’s the latest I’ve slept in a while! And it felt nice! I ate three blueberry pancakes made with Fiber One Instant Pancake mix, not caring about whether or not that would affect my run. I topped them with home-made blueberry sauce. Yum! I can’t stand eating light maple syrup on my pancakes anymore…yuck. (Although I will admit that it was good choice while losing weight.) The weather was…

    Drowning in Pasta Salad

I think I made enough Pasta Salad tonight to feed an army, but I’ll get back to that later. This morning I had a yummy breakfast, some Special K protein with Kashi H2H! I’ve never tried Kashi cereal before but I picked it up yesterday the store because I’m trying to steer away from heavily processed foods. I’m pretty sure Special K has a long list of ingredients but I love it because it is low calorie and high in protein and fiber, and that’s why I eat it. But anyway, I really liked the Kashi cereal! I think its going to be one of my staple cereals now. It…

    Happy National Running Day!

Today was gorgeous day! I love it! Too bad I was stuck inside at work all day. 🙁 AND today is National Running Day! Woohoo! According to my training plan I was supposed to run an easy three miles yesterday, but I increased it to five on the treadmill at the gym. I ran an easy five miles at an average of 10:42 minute pace. It took me about 52 minutes. It was actually pretty nice! I like taking a break from the roads once in a while, as the treadmill seems easier on my legs. I felt really great after the run too, and I hadn’t planned on running…

Seven Miles on a Country Road

I hope everyone is having a great Memorial day weekend! Today I am just relaxing, as I have no current plans. AND I’m blogging again today! Go me! So, this morning I had to run seven miles. And I did it! At first I wasn’t sure where I wanted to run, either up and down my country road, drive into town, or go to my high school track. I opted with the country road run! I wanted to save on gas, actually, and it was a beautiful morning, so it seemed like the best idea! I filled up my camelback and got to it. I started out really slow, about…
