    2010 CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge

It finally came and went! My first race of 2010! And my first time running the 3.5 mile CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge. At 4:45 I went and changed into my running clothes and then packed up my things and headed out to my car to drop them off. I found some of my team members and walked up to the meeting spot with them! They were really nice. I thought it was interesting that I really didn’t know anyone on my team and I was one of the youngest members! I found out a couple of ladies on my team had just ran a 200 mile relay a few days…

    Getting Ready

So, tomorrow is my first race of 2010! I’m excited and little bit nervous. I made a really good dinner tonight! A roasted red pepper and green bean quesadilla. With sauteed green beans on the side! A pretty good concoction if I do say so myself. It was yummy. For dessert I had a couple scoops of my mom’s home made strawberry rhubarb crumble. That was delicious. I also had a couple chocolate chip cookies. My bad, I guess I just couldn’t resist. 🙁 I wrote up the recipe for the quesadilla and it can be found here. I’ve also been getting all of my gear ready for tomorrow. I…

    Lunch and other random things

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you all are having a great day. I’m still mourning over the loss of all my blog posts, but we all must move on I suppose!  Yesterday afternoon I had a doctor’s appointment, so before that I went up to LL Bean to see if I could return my hiking boots that were giving me major blisters on the back of my heel each time I hiked in them. Thankfully, LL Bean has a 100% guarantee and they let me exchange them for these! I wanted the low-cut pair since they were more comfortable on my feet than the hi-cut model. And I got them in 8 1/2…

    Sunshine Run

Well, I figured I might as well start writing up blog posts since everything I lost on my old blog is gone, except the pages. So I’m going to write about my run today. I got a new pair of running shoes on Saturday from Fleet Feet and today I ran in them for the first time. They are New Balance WR760s. My feet adjusted to them pretty well during my run and I had no pain. I even taped up my blisters from my hike yesterday and they were fine! I ran just about four miles in 38 minutes. There were SO many other runners out on the trail…

    Six Miles on a Track

Today I didn’t have a running partner and I wanted to get a six mile run in, so after I work I headed to my old high school track. I ran a pretty easy six miles. I felt pretty good after, I probably could have kept going, but I was hungry and getting bored of running around in circles. One thing I like about running on tracks is that it is easier on my knees. After running six miles with Sue around her neighborhood, my legs were definitely more sore.  Either that or I’m getting used to running the distance. But I figured I would now write about using my…
