    A Sangria Type of Evening

Yesterday started out pretty basic. I made a green monster! But instead it looked more like a brown monster with flecks of green. I actually liked it this time! The past couple times I’ve made these tasted pretty bad. In my GM went: 1 cup of spinach 1/2 cup of light soy milk 3 frozen strawberries and 2 slices of frozen papayas 1 extremely ripe banana 1 tsp of almond butter It was refreshing. I also have some frozen cherries so I’m dying to try a chocolate cherry bomb! I also had an English muffin with Maple Peanut butter. Lunch was pretty standard. I had some smashed chickpea salad on…

Best Mac and Cheese Ever. Period.

Warning: the beginning of this post contains food that is not that healthy! Just a heads up… Yesterday, Chris and I went out to lunch at the Albany Pump Station! Its a pretty nice restaurant as well as a brewery, which is pretty cool. I really don’t know much about beer but Chris does, thankfully! I didn’t know which beer to order so I went with the Sampler. The first and second ones were pretty good, but unfortunately I can’t remember the name of all of them! I know the first one in line was a Quackenbush Blonde (which is empty in this pic!), and I really liked it! It…

Sunday Adventures in Woodstock – Take 2

Ok, so, since I lost every post I’ve made, I feel like I should at least try to make up some. I feel like my last post about my trip to Woodstock was great and I want to try to write it up again for those who might have missed out. So here’s the shortened version, with pictures! Sunday my sister, and my friend Brendan and I decided to go hiking in Woodstock, NY for the day! Before our hike we stopped at a natural foods store in the village called Sunflower Natural Foods. It was so cute! It reminded me of the HWFC in Albany, but more hippyish! I…

    Banana Pancakes and Tulips

Yesterday morning I woke up craving pancakes. I had this recipe for a while, but decided today would be the day to try it. I think I might have made them once before, but I’m not really sure…anyway, I had all the ingredients so I went to work. I tweaked the recipe a bit. I had some wheat bran lying around, so I added about 1/4 a cup to the mix of dry ingredients. I also added about a tablespoon of ground flax seeds. I had those in my fridge I wanted to use up. So the pancake batter looked like this.  I’m pretty sure these were the best pancakes…

    The Big Two-Five

Well, I am now 25 years old. I decided to celebrate this monumental event by throwing myself a birthday party! Why not? I’ve never had a birthday party for myself, as an adult, so I figured it would be super fun. And it was! I made some tasty treats for everyone… sugar cookie stars! guiltless white bean guacamole the whole spread And my cousin Liz, who hosted the party, even ordered a cake from Crisan Bakery on Lark Street, and it was gorgeous (and delicious). It was chocolate mousse with a hint of coffee. I can’t remember the official name of the cake. And boy was it good!!! Crisan never…
