Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run
Yesterday I had a wonderful day in Washington DC. I was on the go from 6:30AM to 9:30PM with only a break to shower after the race. Alicia and I got up bright and early so I could get ready for the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run. I had been planning on running this race since December when I found out I got picked in the lottery that I entered before then. I was so shocked I got picked, I never in a million years thought I would be running this race! We only had a 10 minute walk from our hotel to the race start, so that was awesome.…

2011 Shamrock Run
Today, I drove Heather and I to Kingston, NY to run a 2.0 mile Shamrock “fun” Run! And, of course, we dressed in GREEN! I am probably only less than 1/4 Irish… The race started late (12:50PM), so had time to eat breakfast (pumpkin pancakes) and get ready for the race and then make the one hour drive down to Kingston. The race was really well organized and there were lots of people signed up! It was a little cold while we waiting for the start, but we had Irish music for entertainment. Two of my other friends showed up and we were off! There were so many people running/walking…

Mohawk Hudson Winter Marathon Relay
It was extremely cold this morning when I got to SUNY Albany to run my leg of the 26.2 mile winter marathon. My leg was only 5.7 miles but the cold temperature of 15 degrees made it seem like much longer. I got there and met my teammates for the first time, Melissa and John. Melissa G and Katie had originally planned on running with me, but they couldn’t run today. Fortunately, Melissa G found substitutes for our team and she still came this morning to show her support! My awesome team! I also ran into some other awesome local running bloggers who were running the marathon relay! (from left…

Florida Today 8K
This morning my alarm went off at 5:00AM! It was still dark when my parents and I drove to Melbourne for the 8K race that I was signed up to run today. Originally, my plan was to be in Florida to run the half marathon that takes place tomorrow, but after injuring my hip I had to stop training for three weeks, so I dropped down to the 8K race, which I was fine with! Early pre-race breakfast was a bagel thin with peanut butter and strawberry jam. It was still dark when we got there at 6:00…all of the Melbourne shops were closed. The temperature for 7:00 at the…

Ringing in 2011
Happy new year! I hope everyone had a fun and safe new years eve! Chris and I started New Years Eve out with dinner at Wine ‘N Diner. I called ahead to see if we needed a reservation, but it turned out they weren’t crowded at all! Score! We each ordered a drink, I ordered Champagne with raspberries and Chris got a New York beer. We ordered black bean dip with avocado and house made hummus for an appetizer. The pita bread was warm and chewy, and the hummus and black bean dip were really good, but could have used more of a kick. It was a bit bland. I…
