    New Kitty

There is a new cat in town! This is Ellie! Chris rescued her while I was in Florida! It’s a long story, but basically Chris adopted her when her family suddenly went homeless. But now she is safe and sound! We think she is about a year old, she’s so tiny and very cute and playful. We introduced her to Cedric after keeping her in a “safe space” for two days. It was recommended we keep them separated for a week, but Cedric seemed uninterested in the fact that a new cat was in the house, so we let them look at each other through a crack in the door…

    What I’m Loving Right Now

Pumpkin coffee, still going strong! Trader Joe’s is my favorite, but they were all out when I went there on Monday to restock. BUMMER! My cat-shaped blanket. Enough said. Home made pizza, perfected using the Baking Steel that Chris got me for my birthday! It makes the perfect crust, the best I’ve tasted in any home made pizza I’ve made. Infinity scarves. This one I got from Little Minnow Designs and I’m in love.

    Day in the Life

I’ve officially been a full-time grad student for a little over a month. And even though I’m really busy, its actually pretty do-able and I haven’t wanted to pull my hair out… yet. I’m usually busy from 7AM until after 8PM on most days, but it isn’t so bad. I keep reminding myself that it’s worth it (I absolutely love my classes) and the hard work will pay off in the end. Here is a look at one of my typical days. 5:15AM Alarm goes off, cat follows me into bathroom and drinks out of the sink while I put my contacts in and put on my running clothes, fill…

    Changes

Well, summer is almost over. It really flew by, as summer always does. But fall is my favorite season, so I’m not complaining. I got to do some awesome things this summer! I hiked my first two Adirondack high peaks. Rode a 50 mile bike tour through three states. Pedaled my way through the Helderbergs. Had an awesome weekend in Lake George. Went trail running  a lot:  Tawasentha Park, Five Rivers, Guilderland, Thacher Park, the Pine Bush, and Peebles Island. Went to my first ever baseball game. and visited my sister in New Jersey ! Tonight I start full time grad school. I’m not sure how much time I’ll have…

    Nostalgia

It’s back to college week for most colleges around here, and I can’t help but feel nostalgic! Ten years ago around this time I was moving into my freshman dorm at the College of Saint Rose! I can’t believe its been ten years, because it feels like it was yesterday. I can remember it vividly. Things are so much different now, though! In 2003, I had just gotten my first cell phone and text messaging was something new. Not even all of my friends had it. My phone looked like this. And it didn’t have a camera, either! But of course, I had to take pictures…I used my old Olympus…
