What I Did on 11/11/11

Since 11/11/11 only comes around once a century, I figured I would keep track of what I did.

The morning started out like any other day and Chris and I went to the gym. Unfortunately I was tired and unmotivated. I attempted a run on the treadmill but I wasn’t into it, and then hopped on the elliptical for a little bit. Oh well, at least it was better than nothing, right?

Chris and I then went to lunch at a new favorite of ours, Illium Cafe in Troy!

We were also celebrating our 2 year anniversary of dating a little bit early. 😉

For lunch I went with the soft-shell crab sandwich, which was encrusted with potato…chips! It was very unique and extremely delicious.

It also came with a side of potato salad, but I wasn’t crazy for it so I gave most of it to Chris. Surprisingly I am not a huge fan of potato salad.

After our tasty lunch, I had one thing on my mind…

Trying the new TCBY that opened up on Western Avenue! I remember when this yogurt shop sold only cones and was located in Stuyvasent Plaza. My mom used to take my sister and I here for frozen yogurt before it was ever called “froyo”. TCBY has recently re-invented themselves and are now a self-serve frozen yogurt shop. My life is now almost complete…

They had lot of flavors to choose from, a long with tons of toppings.

I decided on peanut butter and cake batter. Amazing! And 98% fat free…

I think the toppings I added negated that, though. At least I made sure to include some fruit.

I was impressed with TCBY. Its going to be hard not to stop here every day of the week. Thank goodness its far enough away from my apartment and work where it’s not too convenient. 😉

The opening of a froyo shop in November? Why not?

Anyway, heading back to Chris’ and taking a nice long nap, it was time for Chris and I to head to our friend Dan’s going away party. You might remember Dan because we went to his wedding in Colorado in September. He just graduated with a doctorate and is now on his way back to Colorado!

He had some delicious Italian food and snacks at his party, along with a fantastic cake.

I enjoyed some appetizers, eggplant parm and also a small slice of cake. The cake was incredible! It was made by someone at the party and it was amazing.

Well, that was my 11/11/11. Not too crazy. 😉 Did you do anything interesting on this once in a century day?

Whoa, whoever made that cake needs to start a baking blog! It looks awesome and delicious 🙂

And TCBY has become a self-serve fro-yo place? That’s awesome! I love TCBY, we used to have one in college so it brings back good memories 🙂

    Good luck tomorrow Jen!

I was at the new TCBY yesterday! I’m planning on hitting it up after the Stockadeathon. I like how it’s self serve like all of those other trendy froyo places. I loaded up with so many different flavors and toppings so I’m not sure I can give an honest assessment right now – I felt that it was just ok. I did really like the ruby red grapefruit sorbet though – that was yummy!

Good luck tomorrow – hope to see you there! 🙂

I just started following your blog (found a link to it on Sweet Tooth Sweet Life) – I love it! I read your “about me” section and your story is amazing and inspiring. It’s great when you find a blog that motivates you to be healthy each day!

The TCBY looks delicious! And you and your boyfriend are so cute – congrats on the anniversary!
