The AOA 3rd Birthday Party
A few weeks ago I got an invitation to the All Over Albany 3rd Birthday Party. All Over Albany is a popular Albany news blog that is quite awesome. I’ve been reading AOA for about two years and it is fantastic! (Seriously, if you don’t read AOA, you should.) Each year they have a birthday party and this year I attended!
The party was last night at The Point on Madison Avenue. I was nervous but excited to go to the party, mostly nervous though, since I didn’t know anyone in person who would be attending! It was a gathering of other local bloggers & readers so we could put faces to blogs and tweets!
They had a gourmet cheese spread with so many delicious types of cheddar cheese to snack on!
This was also really intriguing – a giant paella!
It looked amazing, but wasn’t vegetarian (it had sausage in it) so I had to pass.
My dinner was a few little plates of fruit & cheese that looked like this:
The purple cheese is elderberry cheddar, which might just be my new favorite cheese. I’m wondering where I can get my hands on some of that, because it was incredible!
A little after I got there, AOA Greg came up to me and we chatted for a while! He was super nice and it was great to talk to him. Sometimes I forget people out there actually read my little blog! 😉 I am really thankful to be part of the awesome Albany blogging community!
I also finally met DerryX, who is also really cool!
And I met Daniel B., who writes about food at FussyLittleBlog. He was super nice too! It was so cool meeting the people behind their blogs.
There were also lots of cupcakes, of course. Because what’s a birthday party without cupcakes?
I went with the double chocolate.
The cupcake was so moist and tasty–the frosting was the best part.
Marcie also came to hang out, and I got to meet some of her awesome Roller Derby friends.
I had a fun evening talking to so many cool and interesting bloggers! The blogging community here in Albany is really special. I know sometimes I complain about Smalbany (I usually try to stay positive in the blog) but living here does have its perks. This party made me glad to call Albany home. Thanks AOA! 🙂

It was a pleasure meeting you, and I meant what I said last night. I read a lot of the area blogs (many of which are pure trash) and think yours really stands out as something special – in a good, make that great way!
