ACL Recovery Log #11 – 6 Weeks Post Op
Time is certainly flying by. It’s been 6 weeks since surgery and my knee has been feeling a lot better. I think 6 weeks marked a turning point, as my knee feels less sore and doesn’t swell as much. I’m also feeling less of need to constantly ice it. It’s still tight and occasionally feels sore but it’s not nearly as bad as it was a few weeks ago. I’ve been doing a lot of quad/hamstring strengthening exercises in PT (and at home) and my leg is feeling stronger every day! I can almost walk up the stairs 100% normal, but going down can still be challenging. I still have…

Training for the Farmer’s Fatty Gravel Ride
Last spring, Jordan and I rode the Farmer’s Daughter Gravel Grinder. We cut the ride short at ~40 miles since we hadn’t really trained for such a long ride. See my video below for a recap of the ride! On March 17, we’re riding the Farmer’s Fatty, a 25-mile gravel ride that consists of some of the routes as the Farmer’s Daughter. The ride is designed to be a fun, early season tune-up ride for those riding the Farmer’s Daughter in May. Setting Up Zwift with a “Dumb” Bike Trainer
Setting up Zwift has been an experience, to say the least. If you aren’t familiar, Zwift is all the rage right now within the cycling community. It is an app that allows you to set your bike up to an indoor trainer and ride virtually, along with other riders (or players, if you think of Zwift as a game, which it kind of is). Setting it up was kind of a headache, but worth it to be able to ride indoors without wanting to stab myself in the eye from boredom. Zwift offers a free one week trial.
